Seagulls trounce the Red Devils at the coast

Brighton and Hove Albion were joyous as they hammered Manchester United 4-0 at The Amex. It was a humiliating defeat for Rangnick’s men who registered their lowest Premier League points tally.

The Seagulls had the lowest home scoring record with no win at The Amex this year. But that was to change as 20-year old, Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for the home team with his first Premier League goal with 15 minutes played.

Cristiano Ronaldo blasted a free kick from over 30 yards into the stands as he was in search of an equalizer. Danny Welbeck, former Red Devil almost made United pay when he missed a glorious opportunity just before the break, lobbing over De Gea and over the bar as well.

It went from bad to worse early in the second half as Leandro Trossard’s precise pass inside the box was met by Marc Cucurella who fired a brilliant shot into the top left corner to make it 2-0.It was his first goal for The Seagulls. United were on their knees as Pascal Gross made it three with the Belgian Trossard in the mix, pulling the strings. A couple of minutes later he [Leandro Trossard] got his goal to make it 4-0 with an hour played on the clock.

United netted a consolation goal but their celebrations quickly faded away as the goal was disallowed. It was a bright day for Brighton and much more brighter as they finally ended their run of seven defeats and looking forward for their highest finish in the Premier League
