Their defensive play was also a weapon as they had 6 blocks and and 13 steals in the game making their presence felt all over the court.
For the Warriors, Steph Curry almost had another double-double but was unfortunate as he had 27 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan Poole also closely followed with 20 points and 5 assists.
Grizzlies took the first half edging the Warriors 56 – 51. 9 steals to cap the first half for the Grizzlies was something to admire. They pounced on loose balls and poor handling by the Warriors and made it count when it mattered. On the third quarter, Warriors started strongly.
They [Warriors] made 5 of their 6 free throws in the quarter and also shot 56.3% for the deuce. They wrapped the quarter 26-21 and tying the game at the end of the third 77 apiece.
It was do or die on the fourth as both teams really pushed for the win. Both making all their free throws. But it was the Grizzlies with a huge effort once again defensively with a couple of deflections and 4 steals. Seven assists for the Warriors in the quarter wasn’t enough. Grizzlies won the quarter 29-24 wrapping up the game 106-101 giving a sigh of relief to their fans at FedEx Forum.
The series is now tied at 1-1. Game 3 up next at Chase Center. Can the Warriors respond in their home court or can Grizzlies take a lead in the series?
