Hungry Hungary hit four past sloppy England
The Three Lions, England, suffered worst home defeat after Hungary won 4-0 at Molineux Stadium in England.
Roland Sallai opened the scoring for Hungary on the 16th minute firing from close range after a nice flick on by Adam Lang. Gareth Southgate had made nine changes following their draw with Italy coming to this match. They [England] needed a win to ease the pressure off the team and Gareth Southgate who was getting stick from the English fans.
After the restart, England started playing with more intensity trying break down Hungary’s defense with well threaded passes and counter attacks. Southgate’s men were close to finding their opener when Saka’s shot hit the cross bar after England’s skipper Harry Kane found Saka who was through on goal.
England suffered another blow when Kalvin Phillips was outmuscled by Martin Adam who found Roland Sallai to net his second making it 2-0.
With ten minutes from normal time, Hungary netted their third goal through Zsolt Nagy, nailing deep into England’s wounds. It went from bad to worse as John Stones was shown a second yellow card and sent for an early bath. In the closing stages, Daniel Gazdag added the fourth for Hungary to seal it.
England have now gone four games without a victory and lie bottom of Group 3 with 2 points and having scored a single goal after laying four matches.
