Charles Leclerc misses podium at home as Sergio Perez wins Monaco Grand Prix

It was another strong performance by Red Bull. They were on the podium once again taking the first spot and the third spot with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz splitting the two on second spot.


Sergio Perez won the race with a time of 1:56:30.265. He was 1.154 seconds ahead of Carlos Sainz and 2.645 seconds ahead of his team mate Max Verstappen.


Charles Leclerc could not manage to get on the podium on home soil though he finished fourth 2.922 seconds behind Verstappen in third.


George Russel took fifth, Lando Norris sixth , Fernando Alonso seventh, Lewis Hamilton eighth, Hamilton's former Mercedes team mate, Valterri Bottas, took the ninth spot and the top ten was wrapped up by Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel.


Drama also enfolded as Alex Albon, Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen could not finish their races and were forced to retire early from the race due to damage on their cars.


Verstappen leads the World’s Drivers Championship with 125 points which is nine more than Leclerc’s 116 points. Perez is third with 110 points.


For the Constructor’s Championship, Red Bull leads the way with 235 points, Ferrari second with 199 points and Mercedes third with 134 points.
